But our success as a fully anywhere office company, with positive ESG results and constant growth, would not be possible without Courage to Innovate, the value that guides our entire team and is present in every phase of Enacom. Keep reading to learn more.
1.0: Research and technology
Enacom began in 2009 with a focus on research and the application of knowledge. These remain very important factors for the company to this day, since they built and consolidated the scientific base of master's and doctoral degree holders on our teams.
From 2009 to 2012, we also had the first applications of Artificial Intelligence in the energy sector and five R&D (Research and Development) contracts with ANEEL (Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency), our first client to generate gains from software developed by us.
2.0: Consulting
From a consolidated technological and scientific base, we kept growing toward consulting services, now with headquarters at BHTech, the Belo Horizonte Technology Park. In this phase, we found problems and bottlenecks in the market that could be overcome by applying customized advanced technologies.
From 2013 to 2017, Enacom made its debut in the Mexican, U.S., Canadian, and British markets, accumulating achievements such as the Minas Gerais Innovation Award in 2015 and a foothold in the international industrial market.
3.0: Software development
In 2018, with its own headquarters in Pampulha, Belo Horizonte, Enacom moved to the cloud and surpassed 300 million in gains for its clients with real-time data collection software, Artificial Intelligence and optimization algorithms, along with exponential company growth.
Also in 2018, we developed our first real-time Digital Twin for hydropower generation in Brazil, where we were pioneers in using the technology for industry with a vision of massive cloud data processing, real-time data acquisition, and decision-making support.
That same year, we created Zero Carbon, an Enacom spin-off that works to reduce the carbon impact of online purchases and today has more than 700 tons of carbon offset. We also joined the UN Global Compact, a movement that mobilizes the world's business community to adopt more sustainable practices.
Maintaining high performance and plenty of Courage to Innovate, from 2018 to 2021 we also entered the Ukrainian market, reached the mark of 100 employees, placed 2nd in the Mercosur Science and Technology Integration Award (2018), and made the TOP 10 of 100 Open Startups three times (2019, 2020, 2021). All of this in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, which put our team into remote work, a work model that has defined Enacom ever since.
4.0: Scalability and growth
With boldness and, of course, Courage to Innovate, we began the fourth phase of Enacom in 2022 with a plan to consolidate our international presence and exceed 800 employees by 2030.
Following a restructuring that established five areas of operation (Energy, Steel, Healthcare, Logistics, and Sustainability), the company's current goal is to exceed 1 billion reais in annual gains for our clients.
Using Industry 4.0 technologies such as Digital Twin and machine learning, we plan to keep developing customizable solutions that enable more accurate and efficient decision-making.
Enacom's growth has been real. In 2022, 23 people joined the team in a single day, and in 2023 we reached 400% team growth over the previous three years, which reinforced the company's fourth phase of scalability and growth.
And it doesn't stop there! Also in 2022, we launched our 1st Sustainability Report, followed by its second edition in 2023, reinforcing our commitment to society and the environment.
In addition, we adopted ESG impact analysis for technology projects, earned the Great Place to Work Certification for the second consecutive year, and in 2023 marked Enacom's entry into the Colombian technology market with a first project carried out in another South American country.
Courage to Innovate
At Enacom, we understand that values are connected to our beliefs and origins. They are the things we believe should be important and should be part of our daily lives. That is why one of Enacom's main values arose from the complexity of the projects we began taking on early in our journey.
Some of the projects carried out by our teams are so complex that fewer than ten companies in the world are capable of delivering them. So, at a certain point in our development, knowledge and innovation were not enough; courage was also needed.
“Having courage is about taking measured and mitigated risks. It is the opposite of taking unnecessary risks.”
Douglas Vieira, CEO of Enacom.
An example of what we call “continuous innovation” is Digital Twin technology, which became established at our company in 2022. It was one of the first major solutions developed by our team back in 2018 and, according to Gartner's Impact Radar, it is a high-impact technology with a high probability of becoming established within 1 to 3 years — which can in fact already be observed at Enacom and in the strong market demand for our business — and it is, without a doubt, the burning flame of Courage to Innovate in our company.
Enacom has been in the market since 2009, developing solutions for the industry's most complex problems, with specialists spread across Brazil. Talk to our team and become another partner with Courage to Innovate in your business.
